I am a  Registered Medical Herbalist with over 40 years experience in full time practice. I trained with the School of Herbal Medicine, qualifying in 1981, and was granted membership of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists the following year.

 In addition to my private practices in Glastonbury & Yeovil, Somerset, I also  practised for 20 years within the National Health Service at a G.P. practice, as part of an award-winning Integrated Medicine Project.

I have written and lectured widely in my field to both lay and professional audiences.

Between 2004 & 2006 I served as President of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, the leading and longest established body of professional herbalists in the Western world.  I also served on the European Herbal & Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association.

I also acted as a representative of Western Herbal Medicine on the Department of Health Working Group on the Statutory Regulation of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. This committee's  report to the government has led to the forthcoming Statutory Regulation of herbal medicine, which will at last provide legal status for professional herbal practitioners.

In 2007 I was granted Fellowship of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists for services to herbal medicine.
